Health Guarantee

At Lancaster Doberman, we are committed to breeding healthy, well-socialized Doberman Pinscher puppies. We stand behind the health and genetics of every puppy we place and aim to provide our clients with peace of mind through the following health guarantee.

🐾 Initial Health Guarantee – 7 Days

We guarantee that each puppy is in good health at the time of sale and has received a full veterinary check-up, age-appropriate vaccinations, and parasite prevention prior to pickup or delivery.

What’s Covered:

  • General health: free from contagious or infectious diseases.

  • Vet record provided showing vaccination and deworming schedule.

Buyer’s Responsibility:

  • Must take the puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of receiving the puppy for an initial health evaluation.

  • If any health concerns are discovered, a written diagnosis must be provided by the veterinarian within the 7-day window.

Remedy:

  • If a certified illness is found that renders the puppy unfit for sale (excluding minor treatable conditions like worms or kennel cough), the buyer may:

    • Return the puppy for a full refund, or

    • Exchange for another puppy of equal value (subject to availability).

🧬 Genetic Health Guarantee – 1 Year

We offer a 12-month genetic health guarantee from the date of birth covering serious, life-threatening hereditary conditions that significantly affect the quality of life or require euthanasia.

What’s Covered:

  • Congenital heart disease

  • Severe hip dysplasia (confirmed by OFA or equivalent at 12+ months)

  • Inherited neurological or autoimmune disorders

Buyer’s Responsibility:

  • Must provide written documentation from a licensed veterinarian or specialist.

  • We may request a second opinion from a vet of our choosing at our expense.

Remedy:

  • Refund up to the original purchase price, or

  • Replacement puppy (subject to availability), at the breeder’s discretion.

Exclusions (Not Covered)

  • Minor, non-life-threatening conditions (e.g., umbilical hernias, undescended testicles)

  • Health issues resulting from neglect, abuse, improper care, accidents, or environmental factors

  • Allergies, size, color, ear set, or temperament variations

  • Any condition caused by over-exercising or inappropriate feeding/growth management

📋 Buyer Agreement Requirements

To keep the guarantee valid, the buyer must:

  • Provide proper nutrition, veterinary care, and housing

  • Follow recommended vaccination and deworming schedules

  • Not breed the dog before 24 months of age (unless with written agreement)

  • Notify us immediately of any serious health diagnosis covered by this guarantee
